Ship Modelling & Simulation Centre AS (SMSC) has been aquired by Kongsberg Maritime, and is now a Department in Kongsberg Maritime, Global Customer Support. The Department name is KM Training Grilstad.

KM Training Grilstad, utilizes ship- and crane-simulators in training and operational conceptual evaluations. KM Training Grilstad also provides custom-tailored simulation-based training for all vessel types on any location.

KM Training Grilstad is situated in Trondheim, Norway. Our permanent staff of highly qualified engineers, together with our masters, DPOs and crane operators, constitutes a unique blend of theoretical and practical experience.

KM Training Grilstad has since the company was established in 1980, developed a first-class competence on producing realistic mathematical models for use in pre-simulation of highly demanding or high-risk maritime operations like:

•Shuttle tanker training

•PSV operations

•Ship to Ship lightering (STS)

•Offshore crane- & lifting operations

KM Training Grilstad also offer consultancy services typically related to offshore loading, crane and lifting operations, harbor development studies, waterway evaluations, offshore windmill studies and FPSOs.
